Oliver is in charge of the topic Open Source Software (OSS) and other 3rd party software at Siemens. In this role he heading the Open Source Task Force, which is a company-wide board of experts, who are in charge of the license compliant use of OSS in products, solutions and services. Oliver studied electrical engineering and started his career as software developer at Siemens back in 1992. He had several positions as a software developer and project leader. Oliver has more than 19 years experience in Open Source Software, its license conditions and how to comply with the different licenses. During this time, He kicked off several initiatives to reduce the cost of license compliance work. Among these initiatives are the sponsoring of the Open Source projects sw360 and FOSSology to name a few. He is member of the governing board of the OpenChain project as well as of the Automated compliance tooling project (both under the umbrella of the Linux foundation) additionally He is member of the steering committee of the working team Open Source of the Bitkom a German registered association. Oliver is still doing the license compliance work, like package analysis, open source contributions and so on.
